By 2023, we have completed 150,000 tests!
Preventive examinations
Using mobile clinics, the Foundation gives patients all over Poland the opportunity to have free preventive examinations. Regular prevention, apart from a healthy lifestyle, is also about monitoring our own health. Regular examinations reduce the probability of developing diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, by up to half. After the examination, each patient receives a printed result with an interpretation.

Elderympics
The main objective of the event is to mobilise, integrate, educate, promote health and foster healthy habits among seniors living in Toruń and its surroundings. Senioriada is a project to encourage seniors to spend time in an intergenerational environment, going out and socialising in a safe way.
Each year, in cooperation with the Senior Citizens’ Council of the City of Toruń, we guarantee a relaxing and leisure atmosphere amidst the beautiful greenery of the Ethnographic Museum organised with the support of the Municipality of Toruń.
The Senioriada allows seniors to showcase their passions and activities, to demonstrate the things that are important to them. Sharing experiences and reviving interests is important, especially now that we are all returning to full social life.
The NEUCA Foundation for Health organises this event together with the Senior Citizens’ Council of the City of Toruń. Each year, in cooperation with the Senior Citizens’ Council of the City of Toruń, we guarantee a relaxing and leisure atmosphere amidst the beautiful greenery of the Ethnographic Museum.
The number of senior citizens in Poland is increasing. Mainly due to increased life expectancy and lower birth rates. Therefore, it is becoming increasingly important to support the active participation of elderly people in professional and social life, and to make use of the potential of elderly residents by local communities (e.g. by initiating and developing intergenerational dialogue). These national trends also apply to our city and, in order to address social issues, we are holding an event aimed at:
– integration of senior citizens,
– intergenerational integration,
– promotion of senior citizens’ communities,
– promotion of an active lifestyle,
– prevention and diagnosis of the most common diseases of late adulthood, and to build a positive image of the city as a senior-friendly place.
The event is organised in cooperation with the Senior Citizens’ Council of the City of Toruń, and the expected number of participants ranges from 2,000 to 5,000. The main purpose of the event is to mobilise, integrate, educate, promote health and develop healthy habits among seniors living in Toruń and its surroundings. Senioriada is a project through which we encourage seniors to spend time in an intergenerational environment, going out and socialising in a safe way.
Being a senior citizen these days is taking on a new meaning. Today’s senior citizen is a person who is fulfilled with life, who believes in their own strengths, who is curious about the world and about people. Despite the lack of professional responsibilities, they overcome difficulties and strive for a new goal every day. We believe that each edition of the Senioriada “We are here” is an opportunity to return to active get-togethers of the senior community after a period of social isolation. The event is another landmark on the entertainment map of Toruń’s seniors and will allow them to enjoy life even more.
During the event, seniors receive educational materials to help keep them healthy and draw attention to the need for prevention. An added value is the tests performed in medical buses.
Walkathon NEUCA for Health
The NEUCA Walkathon for Health has been an annual event promoting health and sports for the past 11 years. Its goal is to engage the local community and popularize a healthy lifestyle through walks and other outdoor activities.
In most editions, the event has consisted of:
– A Health Walk, which annually attracts thousands of participants, including children, youth, seniors, and people with disabilities.
– A diagnostic and preventive screening area (the so-called Health Village), where participants can undergo screening tests for the most commonly diagnosed health conditions (e.g., mammography, skin mole examination, ECG, blood sugar test as part of the National Blood Sugar Test, which the Foundation has been conducting nationwide since 2022, cholesterol and blood pressure check, spirometry, densitometry, and many others).
Our event is never the same, and everyone who has been with us from the beginning knows that. We always approach its organization flexibly, considering the needs and social situation of the given year. This was also the case in 2020 and 2021, when, due to the epidemic situation, we replaced the traditional walk with a virtual event. However, considering the issues related to access to preventive care, we organized a large Blue Health Village. As a result, in 2020 and 2021, one of the largest mobile health clinics in the country was set up in Toruń, offering everyone interested access to a range of free preventive screenings. To date, over 30,000 people have participated in all editions of the event. The Walkathon’s history includes 16 million calories burned and liters of sweat shed. It also involves hundreds of patients screened, dozens of medical consultations, and 11 past editions of the walk, raising over 1 million PLN in charitable support. Each edition of the NEUCA Walkathon for Health is accompanied by a different charitable goal, making it a unique opportunity to do something good TOGETHER.What will future editions bring? How will we assess our needs in the health sector? What will happen in our surroundings? We don’t know that yet. One thing is certain, however: the NEUCA Foundation for Health will continue to promote prevention (physical activity, health education, healthy living, and screening tests).Stay tuned and follow us for updates on what form the well-known NEUCA Walkathon for Health will take in the coming years.
